My youngest daughter has decided to buy diet pills to help her lose weight. Since she and her husband have different taste buds and planning different meals with both of them working and she is going to college also, this will make it easier for her. She is concerned about the cost and how effective the diet pills will be. I advised her to check the different brands available and talk to the pharmacist about the active ingredients and side effects. She knows I have been concerned about the amount of weight she has gained in the past months can lead to diabetes.

Thanks for adding me to your blog roll and your comment. I saw this message & just had to say – if you can – try to talk her out of diet pills – they never work and are usually a bunch of caffeine (not good for general health). The only true way to loose weight and get fit is healthy eating and exercise. Small modifications like walking, taking the stairs and wearing a pedometer to make sure you get the minimum of 10,000 steps per day can help. Also – the government has tons of free info on MyFoodPyramid.gov and the Diabetic Assoc. that they will send you and recipes about avoiding Type II. My mom has diabetes mellitus which could be controlled with diet and exercise (she just isn’t interested) and I printed her out a 100 page book with exercise tips, quick recipes and more all from these sites. Good Luck, I know it is hard to keep our families healthy these days!
