I have owned a waterbed for many years. The first one I purchased was when I was in my early 20s. Now that I am in my 50s and have arthritis in my back and joints, it has been getting harder to get in and out of bed. Don’t get me wrong about waterbeds, I absolutely love them. Problem is when your waterbed mattress springs more than one leak and the patches are not holding, it is time to get a new mattress. After careful consideration, I decided to buy a regular pillow top mattress. After having to deal with several other leaks this year and having to drain the waterbed mattress and no store nearby that sells waterbed mattresses like what I have, it made the decision easier.

Went to several mattress stores yesterday and my mouth fell open at the prices. Finally found one that had a sale going on. I inquired if they carried any California King mattresses. They had one in stock that was from last year’s stock, so they offered me a really great deal on the price that I could not pass up. It is a Southerland mattress. I did not need a box springs as I had the waterbed frame. I did lay on the sample twin bed in the showroom that was from this year’s stock. I was very pleased with the feel of a pillow top mattress. Due to the time of day it was, they offered to delivery it today. Then my next problem was finding sheet sets to fit the new mattress. I finally found a bunch for sale on eBay after calling on the phone to local stores and finding none. I ended up purchasing 2 sets from the same seller. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are a great quality after paying the price I did for both. It will take 2 to 3 days to get to me through USPS Priority Mail. In the mean time, I will use some flat sheets and make the best of it. I really don’t like sheets bunching up under me.

Tonight will be the first time sleeping on the new mattress. I can not wait to see how well I sleep after sleeping on a waterbed for so many years.

That’s a big change to make going from a water bed to a regular mattress. I hope that your sheets work out too. Did you use my auction bump before you bought them? LOL :)
