Owning 5 cats and 2 dogs, I spend quite a bit of money on liquid flea medication for them every spring and summer. I have priced pet supplies at several locations, like the veterinary’s office, pet stores and online. It is amazing the various cost ranges for the same flea medication, from $32 to $40 for a 3 month supply for one pet. The cost for 7 pets can cost over $280 for 3 month’s supply.
I believe one of my cats is allergic to the flea medication because of the bad skin reaction he has. I sure wish I knew what would work best for him. I have tried flea collars and they are not effective for the entire month or do not work at all. For cats that do not go outside at all, I have a hard time understanding how they get fleas. As a family, we are not bitten at all from fleas, so why do the cats get them? I vacuum my house flooring two to three times a week and take the vacuum cleaner outside and remove the bag. The dogs are in a kennel with dirt flooring and I can understand how they can come in contact with the fleas. Seems like every year we go through this same battle with the fleas and the cats.
Our beloved Aunt Winnie passed away around 2:45 PM this afternoon. Thanks to my supportive friends that have contacted me through these times when I have needed a friend. I am glad Aunt Winnie is not suffering anymore. She is now with Uncle Chuck and Jesus.
Talked to her daughter and one of her sisters today. We all are at peace with her passing. My youngest daughter asked about when the funeral was going to be. I told her I didn’t know yet when the funeral would be. That Aunt Winnie would have wanted her to go on her honeymoon and be happy.
A friend of mine was talking to me about investing in Wilmington NC real estate. She talked about how fast the area had grown since Interstate 40 came through since 1990. She informed me that the second largest movie production studio is in Wilmington. Many TV shows and movies are produced there. I was unaware of this. The largest is in Hollywood, California.
I can see why my friend wants to buy properties there. It would make a great investment.
Aunt Cindy has gone through a few coffee tables. She baby sits children and the kids manage to destroy her coffee tables. One time I was over at her house and I caught one of the kids standing on top of her coffee table when Aunt Cindy was in the kitchen getting the kids something to eat and drink. I told the little boy to get down immediately before he broke her table or he gets hurt. I know sooner said it and the table leg broke and the table collapsed. Though the little boy was not hurt, he was just shaken up. I suggested to Aunt Cindy about time outs and talking to the parents of the destructive children about paying to replace her coffee table. She did give the child a time out and a firm warning about standing on any of her furniture.
Warning to “bad” bloggers and website owners stealing my blog post content, plagiarism is an act of fraud: It is pretty bad when people have nothing to write about and have to copy mine and other people’s blog post and post our work on their blogs.
What is it going to take to stop people from doing this? If it were your post, would you be upset?
Some of these “bad” bloggers and website owners do in a round about way give you sometimes “credit” for your work. Others give the credit to someone else using someone else’s name or blog. In school, you would have been given an F for copying someone else’s paper. Internet plagiarism is an act of fraud. I am asking you plagiarizers to stop immediately. I do have your ISPs and will report you for abuse.
I received today a phone call concerning Aunt Winnie. She has had a heart attack and a stroke back to back. She is not expected to live much longer. Several of us family members drove down to her daughter’s house today to see Aunt Winnie and say our final farewells. Her daughter, granddaughter, a sister-in-law from a 1st marriage and her 2 remaining sisters were there. They all looked exhausted. They have not slept since two days ago when she had the heart attack and stroke. I didn’t realize how bad her health had deteriorated over the past month since I last saw her at the hospital the day before she was being released to go home to her daughter’s house. With the heart attack and stroke happening recently plus a seizure today right before we got there, I am surprised she survived. She was talking “out of her head” the family was saying. I understood what was happening to Aunt Winnie. In the last days of a person’s life, they may talk to unseen people usually their past loved ones. She kept her eyes up at the ceiling as she laid in her hospital bed. By what she was saying I knew she was having a conversation and laughing with Uncle Chuck. The sad part of that is Uncle Chuck died last month. I had been told she may not recognize us. When I spoke to Aunt Winnie, she looked at me and told me she loved me. I started to choke up. I told her I loved her too. Shortly she would start talking to deceased Uncle Chuck again. Then all of a sudden she looked back at my face and said my name very clear. She did that with each one of us that was in the room. Her daughter came back in the room with her pain medication and told us that Aunt Winnie was not on any of her heart medication either. Hospice had come in and also there was a DNR Order. Her daughter showed me Aunt Winnie’s feet and I knew it will not be long before Aunt Winnie will be gone to be with her husband and the good Lord. I will miss you Aunt Winnie and your crazy sense of humor and laughter.
Please keep me in your prayers. Between Uncle Chuck’s death last month, my Mom’s failing health and expecting her death soon, now Aunt Winnie’s pending death and my youngest daughter’s wedding tomorrow and rain, my nerves are not good. My blood sugar is elevated in the 300s. I thank the Lord for keeping me sane through all of this.
I asked my youngest daughter where she and her soon-to-be husband were going on their honeymoon. She informed me they had 3 days to take a honeymoon in the following week and they hadn’t decided on where to go yet. I suggested Outer Banks, because it is a fun place to go to the beach and swimming. Both of them need a place to relax and unwind whether it isn’t far from home. Hope they take up on my suggestions.
My oldest daughter has decided to make a career change after being with the same retail sales book company since she was in high school. She is burned out with them. She has worked 70 to 80 hours a week. It has been hard for her to have a social life. She wants a boyfriend that can eventually become a husband to her and she wants children.
At first when she told me she was quitting, as a Mom being proud of all her accomplishments was very confused. A few months before she was touting her horn on being offered her own store to run. After she explained why she was quitting with good reasons, I calmed down and am very supportive. I know she is a very level headed young woman and has thought about this decision thoroughly.
She called me to tell me that a job she applied for back in the town she wants to move back to, had called for a phone interview. The phone interview went very well she told me and that they wanted her to come for a personal interview on this next Tuesday. I could tell from the excitement in her voice she believes she has found the perfect job making more money than she is presently making and will have to work only 40 hours a week and get paid holidays and work no weekends. I have a very good feeling about this upcoming interview. I wish her lots of luck and love.
One of nieces and her husband are taking luxury vacations this year. They have visited London, England and now they are in Aruba. I have always wanted to go to Aruba. The picturesque island with blue water and white sandy beaches is a dream for me. My niece and her husband are very fortunate to be able to get away since they have 5 children. Between a nanny and grandmother taking care of the children, they are able to plan these great trips. They sure are lucky!
Since my old van is 20 years old, I am trying to make decisions about what type of coverage to keep on it. I would like to get a car insurance comparison done to see how much I can save. Since I currently make monthly payments, I would also like to see the difference on monthly, 6 months and a yearly payment would be from different companies. I am glad that when I had to rent the car from Avis that I had full coverage on my van that enabled me to not buy the high cost insurance through them to cover the PT Cruiser. There has been an advantage to keeping the full coverage on that old van, but now is the time to get more realistic about my insurance cost.
