It has been an incredible busy week. With my youngest daughter’s graduation coming at the end of this month, we have been planning a party for her with a lot of friends in attendance. Yesterday, I went to my monthly Stonecroft Ministries Women’s Christian Luncheon held at the country club. What a delightful time I had. We had 2 speakers and a 3rd grade school girl and her father to sing for us. The first speaker was from the next county over and had written a book about life in his county over his life time and how God had blessed him. The 3rd grader girl singing was such a blessing to me. She sang two songs so beautifully for the Lord. She had written the songs which was another blessing to see such talents in a young girl. Her father played the guitar too. The last speaker was a woman who shared her life story and how God had changed her life. I come away feeling very thankful for the blessings I received.
My daughter and I spent time together talking, having dinner together and going shopping for some of her graduation party supplies. It is amazing how well we have been getting along. I continue to pray that our relationship continues to grow closer.
Today, I went with the OWLS group on their outing. The weather was gray and rainy, but our spirits were lively. I have been looking forward to going with the group since last week luncheon and meeting. I was surprised when the bus pulled up in the parking lot of a winery, however we were there for the beautiful restaurant. I ordered their lunch special of Seafood Newburg. It was 2 puff pastries with large shrimps in the center, scallops and covered with a lobster sauce. It was so yummy! Everyone was ordering dessert of cake and pies that the waitress brought out a tray full of them to tempt us. I ordered a piece of pecan pie which I have always loved. I knew I was going to pay for eating this no-no dessert.
After leaving the winery restaurant, we went to a unique shopping area which was connecting train cars and an old general store. I bought some Amish cheese from the general store. I bought some homemade lavender soap and a brown sugar bear from the connecting train stores. The return trip of country scenery was so relaxing. I truly enjoyed my time with the group and the company of one of Betty’s friends. Betty was not able to go because of another commitment.
Tonight, our youngest daughter received her senior honors award for having a GPA of higher than 3.5. We were delighted and proud to see our daughter get this award tonight.
All in all it has been a great day even though my blood sugar was high from the luncheon with the group and now I am very tired. I want to thank all the Mommyfest bloggers who are stopping in and saying hi. I have some major catching up to do tomorrow.
