My back hurts me a lot with the arthritis I have in my spine and not sitting correctly. I do go to a chiropractor to have my spine adjusted and it helps a lot. However, with my office chair only going down so far, I have to hold my neck at an awkward angle to see my screen. So I over compensate sitting incorrectly. I need something to help with my posture correction in this office chair, and then my back will not hurt so much.

With the raising cost of health care and millions of baby boomers approaching the age of entering a health care system for seniors that is not ready for them. 78 million baby boomers about to begin turning 65 will be facing a serious problem with Medicare. They will be receiving less than the best health care because of its low reimbursement rates, a focus on treating short term health problems rather than managing chronic conditions and lack of coverage for preventing services or for health care providers’ time spent working with the patient’s other providers. There is not enough specialists in the geriatric medicine. There are about 7,100 doctors certified in geriatrics in the United States. Not enough training in the treatment of older patients is available. Medicare is failing to provide for team care that many of our elderly patients need here in America.

This July, 2008, our government will start steep cuts in Medicare physician payments, and 60 percent of physicians say this cut will force them to limit the number of new Medicare patients they can treat according to the American Medical Association.

It is a crying shame that the United States is in the sad condition of providing for our seniors, families having affordable health care insurance and food for our children in the school system. I know there are many more issues that our President should be ashamed of himself for letting happen. I think the President, Senator and Congressman should all take a huge pay cut and see how it feels to come down to the average person’s level.

I talked to another friend, Dave, about solving some of his business problems and how to eliminate wasteful cost. We discussed about using a business process management company to help with getting optimal control, automation and manage the entire process. Using a bpm can allow a user to create and manage many financial projects and many more benefits. This may be one solution to help him with his business problems. Since he is another fellow diabetic, it felt good to help him with some advice to reduce some of his stress too.

Another friend of mine called me this past weekend. I have not talked to her in over 6 months due to she was in the middle of a nasty divorce and was moving. I knew she had changed her cell phone number and email address. I have tried numerous times to call her as her cell phone number was still operable. Left messages and prayed she would call me.

I found out that her husband and her reconciled. Though after 6 months, the marriage is not working out still. He is using drugs and drinking alcohol excessively. She told me that he needs to go in an alcohol and drug rehab to help him if he would just go. We talked about a professional intervention being done for him to get into a rehab program. I am praying for this to work for them as she loves him dearly despite his faults.

With my youngest daughter moving out on her own, she will need to have her own car insurance. With her being 18 years of age, the cost is going to be very expensive for her. I have advised her to shop around for the best quotes from several insurance companies, whether online or calling them for the type of coverage she needs. She will be driving her boyfriend’s car because he has had more seizures and still can not drive. I am glad I don’t high to pay the high cost for a teenager driving.

I broke my bottom denture on Monday. I went to the denture center with a family member on Tuesday morning to get mine repaired and for them to check what it would cost to get dentures for them. Since I had bought the premium dentures through this center I thought they would be able to glue it back together quickly and inexpensively. Well, I was wrong. I sat for over 4 hours before being taken back. Long after other people came in, signed in and went back and left. I went to the receptionist and asked her if they had forgotten me. She replied that it is not first come, first serve. I had to wait for all the custom and premium dentures customers came first. I asked her why did she tell me to come in at 8 AM as I am a diabetic and have to eat on a regular schedule and take my medications and shots. She said she did not know if there was going to be an custom or premium denture customers for that day. I informed her that mine is full set of premium dentures does that count. She stated no. I informed her that I paid over $1000 for mine.

So when I finally got back into the exam room for the tech to look at my denture. They said it could be fixed. She returned in 2 minutes and asked me to see if it felt okay. I could still feel where the break was and told her. The glue tasted nasty, however I was happy to have it glued back together. When I was taken to the checkout area with the same receptionist and she told me it would $90 for the repair. I had a fit about the cost for one drop of glue and told her so. Everyone is the lobby heard my conversation and I heard gasp from people about the stupid $90 price the center was charging me for one drop of glue. I went to take out my bottom denture to show the receptionist that the area was not smooth as she was claiming the work was guaranteed. The denture break came back apart. The $90 one drop of glue did not hold. So back my denture went to the lab to do it right.

I had to return in the afternoon with the family member who was getting his full set, to pick up my bottom denture. His full set of dentures cost $395. Since he has stopped smoking, he has been wanting to get dentures that are new and white. Now he has them. When I got mine back I could feel a much smoother surface on the area of the original break as the tech used the same materials as the denture. So it was a long day at the denture center however we are glad to get our dentures, but the cost was a lot more than I expected to pay for a simple repair on mine. The additional expenses for this month is really mounting and not helping my stress level and effects my diabetes.

I have been thinking about setting up my office differently. One of the main concerns I have is adding another computer or laptop on another desk so the family members can use it. Someone told me that I will need to purchase a hub and CAT5e cable to accomplish this task. I am unfamiliar with this type of connection and would probably have a technician come to my house to make sure everything is connected right.

Miss Kitty had the 5 kittens on Feb. 24th. I called the Animal Shelter about them taking them last week since a family member had told me they had someone to take all the kittens and changed their minds. One of receiving personnel at the Animal Shelter told me that they had to be 2 pounds to take in at the shelter. I ended up bringing them back home for another week till today. A nice young lady at the shelter told me they still were not 2 pounds again. I explained how I had 3 large bowls of cat food out all the time and a large water bowl that I filled 2 times a day. Also, how active the kittens have been and can now climb over the top of three 5 gallon water bottles that I had blocking them into my kitchen. She is going to foster the 5 kittens for another week and give them a different kitten food to help them gain weight.

I have enjoyed watching them grow and play and run. Since I already have 5 adult cats, it was impossible to keep 5 kittens too. Plus I have 2 outdoor dogs. I have paid and scheduled for a surgery for Miss Kitty to be fixed. I have one more female cat, Noel, that has to be fixed. All my male cats are fixed. The reason I am getting Noel fixed is she is going into heat more and more often, like every two and half weeks. She is yawing so loud that it is keeping the family awake. Even though she does not try to get out the door like Miss Kitty did. The cost of feeding and caring for all the animals is getting expensive.

I feel sad because I miss the kittens already. Miss Kitty looks sad too. I hated breaking her heart taking her kittens away as she is a very good mother. I am glad I took some videos of the kittens so I can watch and remember them.

My daughter talked to me about taking her dresser with her when she moves and not the rest of her bedroom furniture at this time. I am going to have to go to several furniture stores to find another dresser that will go with the décor of the bedroom. I would like to change the total look of the room eventually. I am just not sure when.

I asked my youngest daughter if she would like to go to the movies with me.  She had the night off from work and her boyfriend was working. This worked out perfectly for us to go to the movie theater. I asked her if she had heard anything about the movie called “Nim’s Island”. I had seen the advertisement on the television and it would be a cute, clean family movie.

I have been trying even harder to keep a peaceful relationship with my daughter and spend some quality time with her. I know at the end of the next month she is moving. She still has her moodiness and yo yoing mood swing because of her bi-polar disorder.

Anyway, we enjoyed the movie and laughed at some of the scenes of the movie. If I had to rate this movie, it would be an excellent for all ages. It is nice to be able to go to the movies and watch a decent wholesome family movie without the indecent or violent scenes and bad language. Getting to spend time with my daughter was very relaxing and enjoyable.
