I had gone to the revival last night and enjoyed listening to Mike Watts speak tremendously. Mike has grown so much in his Christian faith in the past 5 years since he gave his life to the Lord. I am truly happy for him and Roxanne. I wish my faith was as strong as Mike’s and Roxanne’s.
Today was just one of those days, I felt lazy. I knew I had plenty to do today around the house and on the computer. I did spend some time reading today. One of the books I read is my Bible. I found encouragement through reading some different scriptures.
My diabetes has been slightly up and down so far this week. I really need to get to walking. I wish our sidewalks in my neighborhood was in better shape. I am afraid of tripping and falling again. I notice the kids having to walk out in the street due to the bad sidewalks and dogs coming out to chase the kids. The nearest walk trail is over 6 miles from my house and the mall is even further. With these gasoline prices is hard to just drive up there everyday. I am going to have to figure a plan to get more exercise.
It always seems to be around dinner time when I get those annoying phone calls that are solicitors or someone “getting a wrong phone number”. I registered with the National No Call Registry to hopefully stop some of the call.
My daughter’s friends have cell phones and sometimes when they hear my voice on the phone line, they hang up. Isn’t it like teenagers to do that? Using a Reverse Cell Phone Lookup service can help me identify who is calling and hanging up. Maybe this will solve the problem.
The weather here in Ohio is so unpredictable. Last week we had very nice warm temperatures. Now this week started off all rainy, gray skies and cooler temperatures. You never know what the weather will be like the next day.
Originally, we were supposed to get rain over this past weekend. The rain from this latest cold front did not get to our area till Monday. It rained most of the entire day. Last night while driving back from the church revival, there was lighting in the sky. I managed to get my friend, Betty, home in time before the rain started and the weather was getting colder.
By the time I arrived at my house, it was down pouring. I got soaked getting into my house and was cold. I quickly turned on my heater before getting changed from my wet clothes. I really didn’t like turning my heat back on as I was hoping to save money on the gas bill for my house.
With all the newest treatment for diabetes being discovered like the scientist at Toronto General Hospital Research did a novel signaling of pathways to the brain, liver and gut which lowers blood sugar when activated. There are also new treatments for other diseases and disorders. With stress being a trigger involved in higher blood sugar, it is always involved in psoriasis. Psoriasis treatment would require healthy relaxation and stress reduction to help manage psoriasis and psoriasis arthritis. A few techniques that are of help are mediation, massage and yoga.
My friend, Betty, called to invite me to a revival at her church tonight. I had already heard about the different preachings on each night of the 3 day revival which started Sunday night. I had already planned to go tomorrow night with a family member. I thought I could talk Betty into going tomorrow night to save on gasoline in my big old van. She wanted to listen to the man that is preaching tonight. Since Betty is 88 years old and still very active in her church and I love sending time with her, I consented to taking her tonight and also go tomorrow night.
I look forward to hearing Jerry Sutton preach tonight. I have known him for about 8 years. God has worked miracles in Jerry’s life. About two years ago, Jerry neared death due to a heart problem. After a emergency surgery, he continued to have problems. Then Jerry prayed and left the situations at Jesus’ feet. Jerry will testify that he is healed through the blood of Jesus.
Tomorrow Mike Watts will preach and his wife, Roxanne, will sing. I have known Roxanne for about 8 years also. This will be Mike’s first time preaching. I am excited for him.
Getting to be with my friend and receive several blessing this week with this revival is a God sent. This will be an uplifting for my spirit.
My nephew is going to going on camping trip with his Boy Scout troop and sometimes with just his dad. He is looking for Surefire flashlights since they are rugged and reliable and compasses for them both. Being prepared for any camping trip is important.
I would have a hard time camping unless it is in a cabin with a bed due too my arthritis. I am not a ground sleeper. I would have to have an air mattress to sleep on.
The promenade of my daughter’s high school prom was very interesting how the procession was done. Some of the students walked up instead of driving a vehicle to the front of the school. Some students arrived in many different types of vehicles. I saw a vintage Rolls Royce, a Hearst with a reminder of Don’t Drink and Drive, Hummers, Hummer and Cadillac Stretch Limos, motorcycles, 4 wheels ATV, pickup trucks pulling boats to horse trailers, vintage Jeep Willy, vintage Ford Mustangs to the latest made Mustang. I pointed out to my youngest daughter’s dad some of the kids we have known since moving here and past boys our daughter has dated. He was having a hard time believing some of these young men were who they were till he heard the announcement of the student’s names. The tuxedos and gowns that were worn were gorgeous, with the exception of a few girls’ dress that were looked like they were poured into them and were very short up to their rears.
I am glad we went to watch the Promenade. Cody’s mom and Grandmother enjoyed the event too. The weather could not have been more perfect outside. It was suppose to rain but it didn’t. Thank God for that.
One of my family members was talking to me about needing new work boots. He works in a large plant that handles eggs and making them into powdered eggs. He does maintenance and cleaning of the tanks and floors. So his work boots get constantly wet and he is replacing them every 6 months. I gave him some advice about a website that I found that had the type of boots he needed for his job. He thanked me for the advice. I am glad I am able to help a family member with a problem.
Yesterday was my youngest daughter’s senior prom. She asked me to spend the day with her while she got ready for her prom. Knowing how my daughter is about planning everything out to the minute and if anything didn’t go exactly how she reacted. The first thing was she was late picking me up by 15 minutes. Then we went straight to the mall for her to have her tanning session at the spa place for 20 minutes. We were to have lunch together at Garfield’s in the mall after her tanning. Well, she decided that she was not hungry since she eat a big breakfast that morning. First, let me say I am shocked, my daughter is NOT a breakfast eater! Her boyfriend/fiance does have a positive effect on her eating habits. She has not had the best eating habits. She hates 99% most vegetables and no fruits at all. She sure ate all of them as a baby….lol. Anyway, I have wander off on rambling here.
She ended up going to the nail salon in the mall instead of eating lunch. There was a long wait to get in so I discussed with my daughter about going and getting some lunch for myself after 30 minutes since I am a diabetic and need to stay close to my schedule. She looked disappointed that I was not going to sit there with her while she constantly called her boyfriend on the cell phone with little reminders for him. She told me that it would take an hour to an hour and half for them to do her nails. Then she was going to JC Penneys hair salon to have her hair curled.
I went to Garfield as I had planned instead of one of the fast food restaurants in the food court. Also it is very noisy in the food court. I like Garfields because it is nicer, quieter and the food is great. I decided on a half of a Mediterranean sandwich and a garden salad. I got my food very quickly and was able to meet my daughter at the hair salon to watch her get all her hair made in curls. I took pictures of her and the hair stylist. The transformation process was turning my daughter into the princess look she was wanting.
The traffic was getting heavier on the way home and I reminded her of the two things she told me she had hoped she wouldn’t forget. She quickly got the other two errands done and she decided to go a definitely route home. We are glad she decided that route as there was a very bad accident on the main route I found out later and we would have been tied up in traffic for sure. So that was a blessing. She dropped me off at my house and later to go help her put on her dress.
She called shortly and said Cody and her had to go to his other grandmother’s house after she got dressed. Her dad and I hurried over to help her. Well, actually Cody’s mom and I helped her get into her dress. We had a time getting that zipper up. Her dress is as she calls it “A Big Poofy Dress”, has tight bodice and poofy at the bottom. Her dad and I would never believe she would ever wear one as she told us so many times as she was growing up she would NEVER wear a Big Poofy Dress! Now she was standing there looking like a Princess all grown up. Hard to believe how quick she has grown up in a lot of ways. She still has a lot of maturing to do, however I was one very proud mom last night at how beautiful my daughter and her fiance looked. We took lots of pictures of Cody and her, Cody and his Mom, our daughter with us. Can’t wait to download all of them.
Will write more later about the Promenade at the high school.
I have been thinking of taking a diet supplement along with the extra exercise to help me lose this excess weight I have gained over the winter. I have seen TV ads and magazine ads about Hydroxycut. The people tell their testimony of how much weight they have lost in so many weeks. I pray I can lose weight in a short time as those people did. I will have to check with my doctor to see if taking a supplement is alright with my other prescription medications. The warm weather doesn’t seem to last very long here, so I need to check with my doctor soon.
