One of my pet peeves is junk mail whether it is snail mail or email. Since last week, I started receiving in my mailbox political propaganda from presidential candidates to State Representatives. Having both a Republican and a Democrat living in the same household can get into some difference opinions.
However, we both agree on one thing, it is ridiculous to receive in one day’s mail four (4) pieces of mail from the same person running for an elected position. Then the next day, maybe 2 or 3 pieces of mail from the same candidate that sent the 4 the day before. The next day after that, a repeat of the day before with the mail received. No wonder the budget the candidates need to operate on is so high. Isn’t mailing out one piece of mail once a week enough for them? We see the candidates on the TV too.
Even the post office is making plenty of money on all this bulk mass mailing they are doing. The poor mail carriers are lugging all those duplicate mailings from those same candidates each day. My back would definitely break under that kind of load everyday.
The sad part for that propaganda mail is that it ends in the trash can, better known as File 13 in my household. I think of all the trees that are cut down each year for making paper. If one candidate could show Americans how they can start saving us money by cutting down on the number of pieces of mail that they send out each day, it would be a big step for mankind and the poor trees.
