While driving yesterday to go take my daughter’s boyfriend to work, I noticed that my brakes were making a grinding noise when I went to stop at a red light. I am not sure if it is the brake calipers or the pads. The pressure plate sounds like something is digging into it.
After driving carefully home, I made a phone call to my mechanic shop. After speaking to the owner about if he was available to work on my brake system tomorrow, he assured me he would take care of the problem for me.
It is great to know I have a mechanic that I can trust to take care of my vehicle. There are so many rip off mechanics operating in this world that are quick to overcharge a woman for having work performed on their vehicle. I have caught in my past other mechanics charging me for work they never did. My dad and two brothers taught me a lot about vehicles while I was growing up. I know when to not try to perform certain jobs by myself.
Every vehicle I have owned since 1972, I have always bought a Chilton mechanic book. They have the best instructions and zoom photos of the area they are explaining in their book. However due to my bad knee, I am not able to get down under a vehicle and do the work myself anymore. My mechanic will just have to do the work this time. I sure wasn’t counting on having another extra expense this month.
