I took my Chantix pill last night before reading all the instructions. It appears I should be taking certain pills in the morning for 3 days. Then on 4th day, there is a morning and an evening pill to take for the first week. I am having trouble sleeping for the last 3 nights. Wonder if this is related to leading up to quitting.

Today, I awoke to slight nausea. I ate my breakfast and felt better. I sat and read more on the Chantix instructions I received from the pharmacy. I decided to call Chantix GetQuit support phone number and set up my support through them as I received a card inside my starter package with a PIN number. The lady was very helpful setting it up. She told me as I had just read that I was allowed to continue smoking during the first week on Chantix, but to make sure I changed my habits like where I usually smoke. We discussed going outside to smoke. As our weather is cold right now, I will have to think twice whether I need a cigarette or not before going outside. This should help slowdown my smoking. We talked about my health condition. She was concerned as 2 of my health conditions raised a red flag with her. She advised me if I experienced anything very unusual to call my doctor immediately. She stated they would be calling once a week and checking on me, just like the Ohio Quit Line. The Chantix support gives support for up to one year. This is great to have all this support and my friends and family.
I noticed this afternoon, my cigarettes were starting to not tasting the same. This is one of the signs that Chantix is starting to work. Taking the desire away from the taste of a cigarette.

I do have to work on changing my habits more. This is so important to me as I know quitting is going to make me healthier.
