ORIGINAL, NOT A REPRODUCTION, Vintage
Imperial Marigold Carnival Glass
Creamer, Hobstar or Pattern #282, which has a large hobstar inside
connected oval bands. There are fan-type elements above and below where
the ovals overlap. This creamer is 4 3/8" tall and 5" across from outer
edge of handle to spout. This creamer is in excellent condition for its
age. There are some tiny air bubbles in the glass. This is standard for
early 1900s made molded glass. There are no chips, scratches or cracks.
Don't miss out on this museum quality piece.
I am not an expert. I have done extensive research on this item. This
creamer's production started in 1911 according to Bill Edwards and Mike
Carwile “The Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass 6th
edition”, 1998.
This beautiful vintage creamer was made by
Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio, USA. Marigold colored glass
was the first color made by spraying reddish yellow or orange over
clear glass. Early colored glass from Imperial was not usually marked
with a trademark and this creamer has no trademark. This is an
original, not a reproduction.
I have tried to describe this item to the
best of my ability.
This would make a wonderful gift or you can
add this to your Imperial or Carnival Glass collection.
